Dominic Elson is a development management consultant with 20 years experience in the private sector – in investment management, media and as an entrepreneur – before coming to Indonesia to work as a management advisor for small rural cooperatives in remote eastern islands.
He specialises in natural resource economics with a focus on small and medium sized enterprises, forestry and agribusiness. He has wide experience as a consultant for various institutions including the IFC, FAO, DFID, IUCN and the World Bank.
His particular specialism is in investment in locally controlled enterprises, with field experience in a number of countries. He is author of the ‘Guide to Investing in Locally Controlled Forestry, published by IIED in 2012.
